Carmen J. DiProspero, 75, of Wilmington, Del., passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, at Christiana Hospital. He was a loving husband to Marilyn Shupe DiProspero, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Carmen J. DiProspero, Sr and Josephine Fecondo DiProspero. He attended St. Patrick’s School and Kennett High School. Carmen was a self-employed truck driver for many years. After retiring from truck driving, he worked for Fastrak Express in Rising Sun, Md. for the past 20 years. He was known on the CB radio as the Rusty Washer “RW”. He was a council member of the Mermaid Run Condominium Association. Carmen enjoyed driving his truck, working in his shop at home, working on cars and being with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Carmen J. DiProspero, III of Wilmington, Del.; one daughter, Darlene M. DiProspero and her husband Dale Stevens of Wilmington, Del.; and two sisters, Janette Nigro (Charles ) of Avondale, and Angie Owens (Charlie) of West Grove. He was predeceased by one sister, Margaret DiProspero. You are invited to visit with Carmen’s family and friends from 6 to 8 on Thursday evening, July 31st, and again from 10 to 11 on Friday morning, Aug. 1st, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square. His funeral service will follow at 11a.m. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square.
